The City of Holts Summit

Economic Development Commission

Purpose. The Board of Aldermen hereby declares that the purpose of the Economic Development Commission is to promote economic development within the city limits by encouraging businesses and commercial enterprises to locate their facilities within the city limits of Holts Summit, Missouri, and thereby increase employment and other opportunities for the citizens of Holts Summit, Missouri.

33.420. Duties of the Economic Development Commission. The Economic Development Commission of the City of Holts Summit, Missouri, shall have the following duties:

1. Promote economic development within the City of Holts Summit, Missouri;

2. Solicit and encourage businesses to locate facilities and establish employment opportunities within the City;

3. Serve as a contact point and provide information to prospective businesses which may be interested in locating within the City of Holts Summit;

4. Cooperate with the local Chamber of Commerce and other organizations to attract business and promote economic development within the City;

5. Recommend to the Board of Aldermen certain policies and ordinances which might enhance and promote economic development within the City.

6. Further and other duties as may be necessary and consistent with the purpose of the Economic Development Commission as set forth herein.

33.430. Reports. The Commission shall prepare and submit to the Board of Aldermen of the City of Holts Summit, Missouri, an annual report addressing the Commission's activities during the previous twelve month period and suggesting policies and ways of better promoting economic development within the city limits.
